Reliable, honest and quality work !! From oil changes to brakes, to front end parts, to serious diagnostic work and engine repair over the years, Performance tune has never let me down. One of my cars is a 2004 Dodge Intrepid and I had a part go bad that Dodge no longer manufactured. Pat, the owner and staff spent several days searching nationwide for a new or aftermarket part for my car and was unable to find one. When all hope was lost, one of the mechanics came up with an out of the box solution that saved my car from going to the junk yard. I am eternally grateful for Performance tune for keeping my cars on the road. I am loyal to Performance tune and would not dream of taking my cars to a different shop. From the owner, to the service writer to the many mechanics I have had the pleasure to meet....I AM in gratitude for every staff member that I have had the pleasure of meeting !!

Brian, thank you for your kind review. It is always a pleasure to work with you and your family!

I have received incredible service at Performance Tune. I took my Honda CR-V in to address a no-start issue, and they diagnosed it that day and had it fixed the following day. Following the repair, I ran into a series of issues–all unrelated to their service–and they resolved each issue with urgency and free of charge, ensuring that the problem was not a result of their repair. Throughout the process, the staff were communicative, respectful, friendly, and completely transparent and upfront about their costs. This is my go-to mechanic, and I would highly recommend their service!

Emma, it was great to meet you, your mother, and your CR-V recently! Thank you for the wonderful review.

I really appreciate these guys. They did a great job replacing the tie-rods on my Subaru at a reasonable price. And, when I told them I thought my battery cables needed replacing, they DIDN'T, stating that mine seemed to be just fine and only needed to be cleaned up (saving me an unnecessary cost). Thanks guys!

Thanks for your review Mike! We appreciate your trust; always a pleasure working on your Subaru.

These guys are so friendly and efficient. We had the car towed there over a 4 day holiday and the first day back at work they called me by 8.30am. The car was repaired within 24 hours. I love that they are friendly and easy to work with.

Took my 2011 Hyundai Elantra in for consistent and loud engine pinging. After a day, they Pat and the mechanic were honest in that they didn't really know what the issue was but recommended a $2,400 timing belt--which I took because they said it might help. It did not. That same afternoon after picking up the car, I googled "2011 Hyundai Elantra engine pinging" and bingo! Found the problem, verified by Crossroads dealership later, and a lawsuit. At 92k miles, a new engine at $8,000 recommended. Why couldn't the mechanics at Performance Tune have googled? I felt ripped off and taken advantage.

As the owner of Performance Tune Auto Repair, I think about Debra’s Hyundai repair more than she will ever know – almost every day. While it is not one that I am proud of, the fact is that often times, diagnostics are difficult. They are not an exact science; not black-and-white obvious. In our diagnostic test approach, we consider many factors including the customer, their needs and desires for their vehicle, the vehicle’s history, and as much service and troubleshooting information as we can review. As a shop we employ ASE-certified technicians, and we belong to industry associations including All Data, Identfix, and iATN – where we have access to a LOT of service information and technical assistance. Occasionally we use google, though not everything posted on the internet has proven true. When a diagnosis and repair does not fix it right the first time, it is a bitter pill to swallow. It really doesn’t matter if it is $2 or $2,000, it is the principle of the matter. Customer satisfaction and our reputation are at stake. Where I think we failed with Debra is in our lack of follow up. We failed to show our empathy for her situation, and to discuss possible next steps in resolving the problem. We do stand behind our work, although we’re not perfect. Googling the problem as Debra suggested, fixes include changing the oil filter, changing spark plugs, EGR system, carbon in the combustion chamber, engine timing, all the way to engine replacement. The timing chain repair we performed on Debra’s car was legit, though it didn’t fix her problem. This is one of those situations where persistence would have paid off, had we diligently continued to pursue the problem. We didn’t. We’re striving to get better, every day.
